I'm not really into "Gimmicks" or as we called it "Night Life", I do have lots of friends, but best friend? I don't think so... I'm A loner, because I rather choose to be alone than to be with a group of people doing nonsense... Pure Love Wines 2005 Layer Cake

"My old grandfather made and enjoyed wine for 80 years. He told me the soil in which the vines lived we’re a layer cake. He said, the wine, if properly made, was like a great layer cake, fruit, mocha, chocolate, and hints of spice — and rich, always rich. 'Never pass up a good Layer Cake,' he would say. 'I have always loved those words."

Les Pionniers Sauvignon Blanc

"The Les Pionniers Sauvignon Blanc has a beautiful nose with delicate aromas of Meyer lemon, ripe pear, mango and white spring flowers. The mid-palate is creamy yet fresh with great minerality, showing off our terroir with a pleasant lingering finish."

Mollydooker Shiraz McLaren Vale Carnival of Love 2006

Opened and tasted immediately: Mushroom, plum, cherry, big fruits, big yet soft tannins. Decanted. 2 hour decant: Great color. Still tight on the nose. The initial mushroom note is gone with the appearance of a musty-forest floor with a touch of pepper and bacon. On the palette it’s toasted cedar, vanilla, plum, pretty solid through the middle with a long, complex finish that goes on and on. At this point I’m definitely seeing 96 pts or more. 3 hour decant: Again showing better, more buttery now with a bit more spice. The fruits in this wine just don’t stop. Quite pleasing and still 96+ points. 4 hour decant: Just as elegant as before. I’m quite impressed with the structure of this wine and overall quality. Very good

My Sweethearts...

What’s everybody drinking with their sweethearts for Valentine’s Day?

#5  Italian Reds -  What says “Cara mia, ti amo molto (My darling, I love you deeply) better than a spicy Italian red and a big pan of lasagna?   After all, the most direct route to the heart, is through the stomach.  si o non?

#4  Champagne - Pricey but impressive, a true Champagne is a sensual delight that is the stuff of seduction.

#3  Sparkling wine - Champagne a bit too dear?, then opt for a frugal cousin.  We have sensational sparklers for as little as $8.99  :-)

#2  Napa Cabernets - Grilling a heart-shaped steak tonight?  Many have purchased the cadillac of Cabernets – Napa Cab!

#1  Red Bordeaux - We have five different labels of the spectatcular 2009 vintage.
